Ma con la stessa rivista evangelica riteniamo che quando si relegano le chiese al solo ambito privato, escludendole dalla sfera sociale e politica di uno stato, per Willy Spiller (teologo cattolico e membro del partito socialista) "è in gioco la libertà di predicazione"; è impossibile, afferma questo teologo, epurare il messaggio cristiano da ogni aspetto politico, perché la lotta per promuovere valori come la giustizia, la pace, la salvaguardia del creato hanno spesso coinciso con il messaggio evangelico.
